Just as every celebration is better when you’re surrounded by family, every adversity is also easier to handle. When Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast in October 2012, it was challenging, but the affected communities gathered together. People had fallen victim to Mother Nature, but they were determined to make it through everything by working together. Hurricane Sandy was a big reminder that everyone from all walks of life and backgrounds can face giant obstacles. Although we never welcome tragic events, they often bring families and communities closer together. There are lessons to be learned and ways to grow in these experiences.
